History. Founded in 1991 as a social profit research organization by Doc Childre, HeartMath® earned global recognition for unique research-based techniques and proprietary technology which transform the stress of change and uncertainty into coherence and renewed energy in all environments – workplace, learning center, and home.
By 1997, HeartMath® turned its attention toward corporate environments, and HeartMath, LLC was created to oversee this mission. Its easy-to-use solutions dramatically — and quantifiably — boost performance and health for staff and the organization.
Organizational Application. How do HeartMath® strategies and tools benefit organizations? More than a decade of research in organizational management, published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, confirms a single, fundamental premise: unleashing the full power of an organization starts with empowering the individual. When individuals are internally self-managed — feeling balanced, in control, and powerful — we make our greatest contribution. We act, not react. We think creatively. We communicate clearly. We manage well under pressure and have greater resilience. We make good decisions. Our most inspiring leadership qualities emerge. In short, when dozens, hundreds, thousands of employees work in their “zone,” the organization achieves its peak performance.
Corporate Performance. But do HeartMath® tools and strategies empower individuals within the organization? Yes. Clinical studies have unequivocally demonstrated the critical link between emotion, heart function and cognitive performance – and achieving coherence among these elements is precisely what HeartMath® does.
HeartMath® case studies have proven significant positive business outcomes, with measurable improvements in leadership performance, sales effectiveness, customer service, staff retention, cost reductions, staff health, and overall performance. HeartMath’s® compelling approach has been published in journals such as the Harvard Business Review, Journal of Innovative Management, The American Journal of Cardiology, Stress Medicine, and Journal of Advancement in Medicine.
Its successes have been featured in media stories on CNN, ABC World News Tonight, NBC’s Today Show, Good Morning America, the Lifetime Network, New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
